Software Instructions

We will be using LaTeX for word processing and the beamer package to create presentations. It's all free and it's rapidly becoming the academic standard for documents with technical content. We will download LaTeX via the convenient ProText package, and use the software TeXnicCenter as a user-friendly platform (interface) to create LaTeX documents.

For a smooth start, please follow these instructions for downloading and customizing LaTeX exactly.

  1. Installing and customizing LateX for Windows

    1. Instructions (pdf)
    2. Instructions (tex)
    3. testscript (tex),(pdf - the finished result if all goes well)

  2. Installing new packages in LaTeX
